Just yesterday, my wife and I sent a small amount to a family member located in El Salvador. It was a small amount to us, but meant a lot to them. But I was thinking that I should do more, and not just for them but for everyone in need.
After some thought, I sent them this message and I now send it out to the world...
"I sent you some money yesterday to help you, but although I am happy to have been able to assist, I am sad that this assistance is only temporary.
For us, it is only a small sacrifice to have been able to send you the money, compared to what it can do for you.
However, once that money is spent, you will again be dependent on charity, unless you take action to change your life for the better and forever.
There is a saying, “Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for life.”
There is also the story of a man walking down a street and hearing a dog howling in pain. He follows the sound and comes to a porch where a lady is sitting in a rocking chair with a dog next to her, the dog that is crying out in pain.
He asks the lady, "Why is your dog howling like that?”
The lady replies, “He’s sitting on a nail.”
So, the man asks, “Why doesn’t he move?”
The lady replies, “I guess it doesn’t hurt enough!”
So, now I am asking YOU, “How much do you hurt?”
Is it enough to do what it takes to make a change in your life? Or will you simply put up with sitting on a nail?
To make the change will only cost you $12.50 in cash, but the sacrifice will be in changing the way you think, and doing whatever it takes, to help others make the change and become self-sufficient and totally independent.
If you are prepared to do that and treat all the many obstacles as ways to become stronger, then your own personal success and happiness will be assured.
